International contest for espresso coffee blends
The Italian Espresso National Institute organizes Espresso Award 2011, an international contest for espresso coffee blends.
Espresso Award 2011 aims to enhance the movement devoted to Italian style espresso, which is today backed by several non-Italian roasters committed to fight against fake Italian trends in their own countries.
Roasted coffee bean blends produced by roasters whose registered office is located out of the Republic of Italy are eligible for the Espresso Award 2011 contest. Such blends must be intended for distribution through the HoReCa channel.
A chemical and sensory assessment will be performed on each coffee. Once the competition is over, the roasters will receive a report stating the indexes relative to their own products. The winning roasters will be allowed to employ the Espresso Award 2011 logo.
